HKALA Introduction

The Hong Kong Aircraft Leasing and Aviation Finance Association (HKALA) was founded in June 2017 to promote the development of the aircraft leasing and finance industry.

HKALA's members include key international and domestic lessors, lessees, banks and other financial institutions, investors, law firms, accounting and tax advisory firms and other service providers involved in the aircraft leasing and finance industry.

The Association seeks to be a united force in the industry that strives to enhance Hong Kong's status as an international aviation and financial centre.


Vision, mission and objectives

of the Hong Kong Aircraft Leasing and Aviation Finance Association

The Association’s vision, mission and objectives are:

  1. to provide a forum for Members to exchange views, ideas, experience and practice, and to raise and discuss issues, in relation to aircraft leasing, aircraft finance or other matters relating to aircraft leasing or aircraft finance;
  2. to promote, represent and safeguard the interests of Members as owners, lessors, lessees, financiers, secured parties, investors, fund providers, interested parties or providers of services in connection with aircraft leasing or aircraft finance;
  3. to develop industry proposals for changes to regulatory or market environment;
  4. to put forward collective views of Members, and to make representations or submissions, to government authorities or other persons on aircraft leasing, aircraft finance or other matters relating to aircraft leasing or aircraft finance;
  5. to collect and disseminate information on business, developments and other matters concerning aircraft leasing or aircraft finance;
  6. to promote domestic and international co-operation on matters relating to aircraft leasing or aircraft finance;
  7. to promote Hong Kong as an aircraft leasing and finance centre;
  8. to undertake an educational role in promoting knowledge of, or interest in, aircraft leasing, aircraft finance or other matters relating to aircraft leasing or aircraft finance;
  9. to liaise with other associations or persons having an interest in aircraft leasing, aircraft finance or other matters relating to aircraft leasing or aircraft finance;
  10. to be a principal resource for the aircraft leasing industry and aircraft finance industry;
  11. to organize meetings, seminars, conferences or other events on topical issues relating to aircraft leasing, aircraft finance or other matters relating to aircraft leasing or aircraft finance;
  12. to publish subjects of interest in relation to aircraft leasing or aircraft finance to Members or the public;
  13. to recognize persons who make outstanding contributions to the aircraft leasing industry or the aircraft finance industry.
